Job Title: Retail Manager – New York Flagship (Footwear)

We open our flagship store in Nolita—a neighborhood known for its style, creativity, and cultural depth—we’re seeking an experienced and thoughtful Retail Manager to lead this next chapter of our retail journey
Position Overview:
The Retail Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Nolita flagship store, ensuring an elevated client experience and driving commercial performance. This role is ideal for a seasoned retail leader with a background in luxury, fashion, or premium footwear (space) who understands the art of storytelling, service, and spatial experience. As our first physical presence in New York, the flagship will serve as a true extension of our brand values—and your leadership will be central to bringing it to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing team to deliver exceptional, personalized service
- Create a welcoming, elevated environment that reflects our design values and commitment to craftsmanship
- Maintain high visual merchandising standards that highlight the form, detail, and functionof our footwear
- Monitor store performance and implement strategies to increase foot traffic, engagement, and conversion
- Oversee store operations including inventory management, reporting, and daily procedures with precision
- Partner with our HQ and brand teams to support events, launches, and neighborhood activations
- Cultivate meaningful, long-term client relationships through a high-touch service approach
- Represent the brand in the community and ensure all in-store experiences align with our vision and standards
- Collaborate with key internal partners to lead timely and effective execution of store controls and operating standards (including policy and procedure administration) while assuming responsibility for the stores profitability and the team's safety
- Analyze local market trends ensure all data relevant to operations is analyzed; including product information (mix, trends, needs) local competition, local wages, events, etc.
- Analyze, develop and execute revenue building strategies to achieve and exceed, store sales goals, performance metrics and consumer expectations
- Develop and foster external partnerships and event promotions for the benefit of the store
- Engage with local community and encourage associates to bring forth ideas to continue to grow brand awareness
- Develop and implement proactive recruitment strategies to ensure proper year-round staffing levels
- Ensure continuous use of talent identification processes to build a strong internal bench, maintain a network of great candidates, hire exceptional people, and create personalized succession paths
- Ownership of individual development and professional growth
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of retail management experience, preferably in luxury or premium footwear,
fashion, or lifestyle - – store manager experience preferred - Strong leadership and team development capabilities
- Staff Development Experience: Knowledge in staffing, coaching, counseling, training and development
- Proven success in driving sales while nurturing brand culture and customer relationships
- A refined understanding of product storytelling, clienteling, and experiential retail
- Excellent organization, prioritization and communication skills
- Exceptional team and collaboration skills.
- Passion for design, materiality, and the craft of shoemaking
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed
Retail Operations knowledge including sales, customer service, merchandising, inventory
control, store budget preparation and loss prevention.
Excellent PC skills: POS Systems and Microsoft Office.
Moderate Lifting (30-40 lbs.)
