Repairs: Service Boot Natural Shell Cordovan

Repairs is a series highlighting some of the most interesting and well-worn boots that come back to our factory for maintenance.  We've shot these boots in a studio setting to specifically showcase their patina and character .  This offers a glimpse into the aging process of our materials and the unique journey behind every pair of boots.

This pair of Service Boots in Natural Shell Cordovan belong to internationally acclaimed tattoo artist Thomas Hooper.  Currently based in Austin, Texas, Thomas has been living and working in these boots for over three years. The unstructured and unlined Shell Cordovan has literally moulded to the shape of his feet and the Natural colour has completely transformed from exposure to the elements and ink splatter.  While scarcity has transformed Shell Cordovan into a premium leather for dress shoes, Thomas' boots are a strong reminder of the blue collar origins of this unique material.
